Here it is, late October. The weather has turned cold. I’ve now listened to Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” more times than I can count. Halloween is around the corner. And my wedding season has come to a close for 2013. I had the pleasure of working with really great couples again this year – I had so much fun documenting their day and getting to know their family and friends. While my shooting schedule has meant that this blog post is long overdue, I hope you can curl up by the fire (or space heater!) and enjoy Melanie and Shawn’s wonderful day.
Their ceremony was held in Melanie’s parents’ backyard. Surrounded by fields and tall pine trees, it was a perfect backdrop for their ceremony. I love that Mel and Shawn’s sense of humour meant finding some really creative ways to use their locations – whether it was to explore her Dad’s workshop or popping down to their venue’s (surprising) gun range to snap a few portraits (gives a whole new meaning to ‘shooting a wedding’!). The day was capped off with a gorgeous sunset, which was a nice quiet moment before the dancing began.
Enjoy …
