In late summer, I joined Dee and Derek down at the beach to celebrate baby T’s first birthday with a cake smash. I love being able to follow the story of their family — from their very cold engagement, to their wedding, baby T as a newborn … and now he’s one!
I joined the family early on a Saturday to take advantage of the morning light and an empty beach. We were careful not to mix sand with icing, but otherwise let the cuddles and cake eating unfold in a beautiful, relax, way. This documentary approach let’s us capture the loving moments in between — while still having fun with cake and birthday hats. And I do love a beach in August.
