Nivedita and David’s two-day wedding celebration was a beautiful joining of two families and had so many special moments highlighting the importance of family bonds. Their traditional Hindu ceremony took place early on a Friday morning and the grey November weather did nothing to dampen the joyous celebration. With their parents by their side, Niv and Dave blessed their union at the Vishnu Mandir in Richmond Hill, with a First Nation greeting from Dave’s grandfather added to the rituals. Filled with laughter and music – and featuring gorgeous saris brought from India by Nivedita’s mom – it was a beautiful start to the weekend’s celebrations.
We started day two of their celebrations – which happened to fall on my birthday (yay!) – on the main street of Unionville for their formal portrait session. The sun set well before 5:00 pm on this Sunday, so we took the opportunity to create some beautiful night shots. The party then moved indoors, where Niv’s sister-in-law sang the song for their first dance and dance lessons kicked off the night of dancing. Thank you to Nivedita and David for choosing me to capture their beautiful celebration …
